RISE is pleased to announce its first beneficiary of a cut of our profits for the month of January.
We will be donating 20% of our profits to the Mona Foundation.
As we have stated in the past [RISE] has been built to support the Cardano network now and well into the future, we aim to stick around with our scalable infrastructure and security practices.
We want to add value to the world in doing this as well as we are aware that this innovative technology can help many people across the world in the coming months and years.
So, on the 31st January 2021 we will make our first donation as a pool operation to the Mona Foundation.
Why the Mona Foundation?
Looking into various charities and organisations what stood out with Mona was their focus areas on providing universal education, gender equality and community building.
As we can see educating our future generations is a pillar of society that can bring future generations out of poverty and give them the tools for their own economic growth and wellbeing.
Gender equality enables women and girls to have a meaningful impact in their communities. We would like to think that every person in the world has something invaluable to offer. But sometimes society does not recognise that untapped potential due to historic notions and the identification of gender roles.
Who was Mona?
Mona Mahmudnizhad was 17 years old when she was arrested and later executed in 1983 in Iran for her beliefs as a Baha’i and for teaching children’s classes. Mona loved children and volunteered in an orphanage since she was 12 years old. She was also an outspoken defender of human rights and wrote a high school essay on “Freedom.” Because of her beliefs, her service to children, and her outspoken nature, Mona was arrested and then later executed after nine months of imprisonment.
